Using 2.4 signal band at 20Hz, I get a 130Mbps connection and while watching the admin page for my dir-615 router with dd-wrt installed, I can see the Tx and Rx fluctuates between 74 to 127 Mbps. When I switch to pure 40Hz band, the adapter connects at 270Mbps and the Tx fluctuates between 58 and 220 Mbps. Not bad I think. The router I have is not known for excellent coverage AND it is located in the basement with about a 30-40 foot straight line distance from my computer. There are 2 walls it has to go through. Still the signal is 4 to 5 bars/5 bars. I would image that the connection quality would be 5/5 for newer dual band routers. The adapter does have 2 Tx and Rx antennae as I do get higher than 150 Mbps for Tx and Rx routinely. But it is no where near the max speed on 300Mbps... Read more |
