I was skeptical of what difference a good mouse pad could make, but I had some extra cash and I like indulging my gaming habit. I shopped around quite a bit and ended up getting the Rocketfish mouse pad. It was then I learned the differenc between mouse pad surfaces, and reinforced my despise of the Rocketfish brand. I returned the pad and figured I would go with a proper gaming brand like Razer or Mionix. The Propus pad was very much what I was looking for. As cool as I think the aluminum design is for the other pads, I still like the feel of PVC-like plastic on a rubber mat. The surface is rigid enough to let the mouse glide, but "soft" enough to make it a smooth glide, if that makes sense at all. I didn't like the feeling of the mouse sliding across the supremely rigid plastic surface of my last pad. I was worried about the sparkly flecks in the plastic, but whatever it is it... I expect it to last a very long time too - it appears to be very durable. My mouse (Naos 3200) glides over it very smoothly, and tracks fine. My old MX518 also works fine on it. It's pretty wide, but I like that. It measures 15"x10". The product description doesn't actually list the dimensions anywhere, so I just thought I would get that out there. It's pretty thin too, just over 1/8" (about the thickness of 4 credit cards stacked up). The grip on the bottom surface is very good - it's not going to slide around at all. The only potential con I can see is that it takes up a lot of desk space. That is kind of the point though, so it's not a con to me. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful = Fun: Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Mionix Propus Mouse Pad (Personal Computers) I have heard nothing but great things about Mionix, and wanted to see what all the hype was about, so I purchased the Mionix Propus 380 mouse pad. Having a good mouse is definitely important to PC gamers, but having a good surface is also important. The Propus 380 mouse pad has a hard, yet flexible tracking area, with a smooth silver-metallic plastic coated surface to ensure optimal tracking. The bottom of the pad has a rubber base which allows maximum grip on table. The 15in x 10.25in or (380mm x 260mm)extra wide tracking area makes it the ideal surface size.Needless to say this mouse pad is exactly what I was looking for, and cheaper then what I expected to pay. Brilliant design and cheap, that's why I gave it 5 stars. |
