Sadly, it would not recognize any Xbox S Controller I threw at it, and I had quite a few laying around, even with the drivers from the Mayflash site. It did however, have no problem recognizing the original "duke" Xbox controller, so I guess it technically works... But honestly, who wants to use the friggin' duke? It even has a picture of an S controller on the back of the package, so I assume they weren't intending just the duke to work. All my machines are running Windows 7 now, so unfortunately I couldn't test to see if XP/Vista have the same problem.Edit: I went back in to work on this problem more, after realizing the drivers HAD to work for both the S and the duke since they'd need to seem identical to an actual Xbox. I originally purchased it to plug my gamecube controller into my laptop to play on an emulator, and it took a little figuring out at first but it works just fine. It has problems mapping for other emulators too.Beyond that the Gamecube side of things works great the Playstation port is flawless infact if everyone on the XBOX side worked I'd give this 5 stars but since the XBOX side was why I bought this adapter and only 2/3rds of it works I have to give this 4 stars. but if you want more options in what controllers you use this is a wise purchase Just remember to head to the Mayflash website and download the right drivers. |
