It's very precise & fast at 1800dpi. I'm starting to tell a difference in my Starcraft 2 play. I also got the Razer Golithus speed pad to go with it, so that makes it even smoother to move around. I like the feel of the mat finish on the top. Now I don't worry about flinging my mouse when I'm playing. :)It's also super light weight. Like crazy light. I was amazed how much lighter is is even compared to a stock Dell mouse. If you can't decide on which Razer mouse to get, go to their website & click on the ergonomic guide. They'll show you what types of grips people use & which mouse is suited best for each one. They'll also recommend what type of pad to get for the different mice too. 15 of 16 people found the following review helpful By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Razer Abyssus High Precision Optical Gaming Mouse (Personal Computers) This is the first gaming mouse I've obtained - therefore I can only compare it to "regular" mice.First impressions are very good, the packaging is nice and fairly durable. Opening it up we find the mouse, a couple stickers, a quick start guide, certificate of authenticity, and a master guide. Nothing really complicated but it does give you a nice feeling after spending that extra premium on a mouse. Using the mouse is painless and easy to set up using the mechanical switches on the base of the mouse. No software needed. The pointing is fast and accurate on a regular mouse pad. I found the greatest amount of customization when using the Windows mouse settings to adjust pointer speed. The downloadable software is really just the same settings through a razer interface. The mouse takes a little while to get used to after using Logitech wireless mice, but it's definitely more comfortable and accurate. I ended up using the 1800 dpi settings with... I rarely give 5 stars but this is an extremely high quality item. I gave it a 4/5 on comfort because I bought it to use fingertip grip which I don't think is a very comfortable way to use a mouse. However, this mouse makes fingertip grip more comfortable than on others I've tried. I've tried Logitech mx500, g500, LMO, salmosa mini and could not fingertip grip them at all comfortably while this mouse makes it pretty comfortable. The mouse has prediction / mouse smoothing / angle snapping whatever you call it turned off which is great. I have had no acceleration problems with it although I don't use the large mousepad palm style that I used to with FPS games so I probably wouldn't notice them if they were there. As for the complaints that it doesn't work with certain mousepads I think the incident rates of that are extremely low. I use a goliathus control and have had 0 problems. It's extremely lightweight, only... Read more |
